The ALISA Shape Module classifies shapes in images based on the information in geometry class maps. Independent of external parameters, this module can learn to recognize canonical shape concepts, such as regular polygons or convex and concave shapes, etc. More pragmatically, the shape module can learn to classify secular shapes, such as the alphabets of different languages, the detection of trademarks for intellectual property protection, and the detection of weapons in x-ray images of luggage.
